Blue Light Acne Treatment

Many people all around the world suffer from unbearable and embarrassing acne, and can’t find a way to fight it or get rid of it. There are many different treatment options that are available to consumers, and a new acne treatment that work that is growing in popularity is the blue light acne treatment. Most acne is caused by dirt, oils, hormones, and bacteria that can be living on the skin, in the skin, and even produced by the body. Blue light acne treatments fight to kill this bacteria on the affected area, and gives the person a clear acne-free complexion in just a few treatments.

A group of organic compounds that are called poryphins live in the skin, and they can often be the cause of acne. When these compounds are exposed to the wavelengths emitted by blue light, they produce radicals that help destroy the bacteria, therefore removing the problem from the skin. This can be done in someone’s personal home, or at a dermatologist’s office, and results can normally be seen within a week or two of beginning treatment. There are a few things that need to be done to the affected area in preparation before receiving a treatment from blue light.

The area that is affected by acne should be thoroughly cleaned, meaning with water or a cleanser, and then it should be dried completely. The area where the bulb is placed should be a safe place, and it should be placed somewhere that the person receiving treatment can sit at distance of 2-3 feet away from it. The user should make sure that they are using the proper equipment and the proper bulbs to prevent any problems and so they get the best results. After all of these things are done, they are ready for the blue light treatment.

One should sit under the blue light for 15 minutes everyday, rotating their face to receive even exposure, until they are able to reach the point where their skin is as clear as they desire. After they have reached that point, they should then cut down the blue light treatments to 15 minutes every other day. Often people will follow up the blue light acne treatment with a red light treatment, which is said to rejuvenate the skin cells of the affected area. The blue light acne treatment is said to be effective in 85% of the patients.
